Up & Coming Pop Punk Bands from the US that you NEED to hear (1)

Here at Pop Punk UK we're always on the lookout for new Pop Punk bands and so last week we appealed on Twitter for bands to come forward and send us their stuff. We've waded through all of the bands that sent stuff in and compiled a list of some of the best up & coming bands here in the UK and across the pond in the US right now.

We sent each band a list of questions, we hope that their answers give you an insight into them and their music enough to check them out and buy their music.

We'll release our interviews with the other bands from the UK and US over the coming days and weeks so you're not inundated all at once.

But, for now we present to you PART ONE of our list of the best up & coming bands from the.....

USA

TWO O'CLOCK COURAGE
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
- We're from both Fairfield County, Connecticut and Boston, MA
DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN 5 WORDS
- Independent Pop Punk, Hello Everyone!
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE LISTEN TO YOU?
- Because we don't suck!
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOUR MUSIC?
WHEN ARE YOU PLAYING LIVE?
- When our record is done being mixed and mastered! We play a few shows here and there now but we need the record to be finished before we make any movesss
RECORDING OR PLAYING LIVE?
- As a band we absolutely prefer playing live. We were born on the live stage, we love to write music but performing it is really what we do this for. The songs, as we recorded them, take on a totally different light when we play them live. We've been trying to bridge the gap between the two since the day we started. Not sure we're even there yet. Come see us play!
POP PUNK IS OFTEN AFFILIATED WITH PIZZA, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PIZZA TOPPINGS?
- Personally, I love Mushrooms and Onions. Or straight veggie.
IF US POP PUNK IS ASSOCIATED WITH PIZZA, WHICH FOOD DO YOU THINK UK POP PUNK SHOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH?
- hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...Fish and Chips

I'M GLAD IT'S YOU
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
We all grew up in a small town called Ycaipa California, and we all ended moving to the same town of Redlands which is about 15 minutes away.
DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN 5 WORDS
- Nostalgic, sentimental, driving, pop punk.
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE LISTEN TO YOU?
This is always a difficult question to answer. I don't feel that people should listen to us to be impressed by anything that we've made, to be honest it's not the most impressive thing out there, but I do feel like a lot of the processes these songs describe are relatable and at least for myself they have helped me sort through my thoughts and feelings on a number of things, like loving yourself and being in control of your own happiness.
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOUR MUSIC?
Right now are EP is up on a bandcamp page that you can find by going to the link
WHEN ARE YOU PLAYING LIVE?
We have several upcoming shows in Southern California over the next couple of months, and we hope to be playing even more shows at newer places for us when Fall comes around. Our next show is July 24th in Corona with our good friends in Karoshi Boy.
RECORDING OR PLAYING LIVE?
It's a tough call but I think recording. I love doing tedious task related things, particularly tasks that involve music, and so far the recording process has been very fun. But of course we all love playing shows, they're always extremely fun and cathartic experiences.
POP PUNK IS OFTEN AFFILIATED WITH PIZZA, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PIZZA TOPPINGS?
- Artichokes, pineapple, and jalapeƱo. Forever.
IF US POP PUNK IS ASSOCIATED WITH PIZZA, WHICH FOOD DO YOU THINK UK POP PUNK SHOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH?
I'm sure it has to be something strange like herring or something. Maybe some sort of biscuit with assorted jams and jellies, or maybe even a biscuit with a herring on it. Who's to say? It truly is the land of possibility. [Herring? We had to Google this strange word and discovered that it's a fish... Alas, us English don't eat herring regularly. We do like fish n' chips though- PPUK]
