Up & Coming Pop Punk Bands from the UK that you NEED to hear (2)

Here at Pop Punk UK we're always on the lookout for new Pop Punk bands and so last week we appealed on Twitter for bands to come forward and send us their stuff. We've waded through all of the bands that sent stuff in and compiled a list of some of the best up & coming bands here in the UK and across the pond in the US right now.

We sent each band a list of questions, we hope that their answers give you an insight into them and their music enough to check them out and buy their music.

We'll release our interviews with the other bands from the UK and US over the coming days and weeks so you're not inundated all at once.

But, for now we present to you PART TWO of our list of the best up & coming bands, this time from the.....

UK

WILLOWSIDE PARK
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
- We're from a small town in Cumbria called Millom.
DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN 5 WORDS
- Loud/Hard/Phresh/Fun/Alternative
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE LISTEN TO YOU?
- We're a laugh and we deserve a chance. We're from a really small town and it's overrun with indie cover bands. We just wanna express ourselves and play fast, punky rock music. Give us a break haha.
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOUR MUSIC?
- You can listen and download our stuff at willowsidepark.bandcamp.com and keep up with us at our Facebook page.
WHEN ARE YOU PLAYING LIVE?
- We have a DIY tour that runs from late July all the way through August. Keep up with our social networks to find out what we're up to.
RECORDING OR PLAYING LIVE?
- We definitely prefer playing live. It's much more fun, having a drink with awesome people at our shows and losing our shit is much more fun than being serious and on point.
POP PUNK IS OFTEN AFFILIATED WITH PIZZA, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PIZZATOPPINGS?
Spicy BBQ pizza is definitely our favourite. Biggest circumference possible! We also wouldn't say no to some pepperoni if you're offering haha.
IF US POP PUNK IS ASSOCIATED WITH PIZZA, WHICH FOOD DO YOU THINK UK POP PUNK SHOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH?
Fish and chips is a bit too typical for UK residents. Hot wings rule, also fruit pastilles are sick. Although we feel that a hefty Cumbrian johnson (Cumberland sausage) is pretty punk rock because it's coiled and doesn't give a fuck. [no homo].

YOU KNOW THE DRILL
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
Myself (Benji) and Damo are from Stourport but our drummer Brad lives in Worcester, so let's just say Stourport!
DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN 5 WORDS
Happy, Fun, Energetic, Sincere, Cake
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE LISTEN TO YOU?
People should listen to us because we simply write and play music which we want people to enjoy, no strings attached (except for the ones on our guitars)! People should also listen to us because we will go out of our way for fans and literally reply to every single tweet/comment we get!
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOUR MUSIC?
Our music can be found on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/YouKnowTheDrillUK/videos) or our Bandcamp where we currently have our debut single up for free download! (youknowthedrilluk.bandcamp.com).
WHEN ARE YOU PLAYING LIVE?
Well we as a band only technically launched our Facebook page on the 7th of July so we are currently searching high and low for gigs, so if any promoters out there are reading this, hit us up!
RECORDING OR PLAYING LIVE?
We like a bit of both, obviously playing live is an amazing feeling and is always fun, but recording is something special to in that there is a lot more room to be musically creative.
POP PUNK IS OFTEN AFFILIATED WITH PIZZA, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PIZZA TOPPINGS?
Honestly I think straight up plain margherita pizza rules all in that no one can turn it down, but chicken and sweetcorn is always good too.
IF US POP PUNK IS ASSOCIATED WITH PIZZA, WHICH FOOD DO YOU THINK UK POP PUNK SHOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH?
I think U.K pop punk should be associated with Chinese Takeaways, everyone loves a good takeaway and I know that after a gig I will always be craving a good curry.
