Up and Coming Bands | Caught Up In A Dream

Today for our up and coming bands post, we have singer/ songerwriter Dylan Bowers, AKA Caught Up In A Dream, who kindly answered some questions for us. After realising that college wasn't the right direction for him, Bowers started his acoustic project Caught Up In A Dream and has just released his debut EP 'Mountains & Milestones'. The EP is a collection of heartfelt acoustic songs which tell stories about the past five years of Bower's life...

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I was born in Sullivan County, New York. Roscoe specifically, super small town. In 2013 I moved to Ithaca, New York.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BAND NAME?
My band name is a concept really, to me at least. It was lyrics to a song I wrote back in high school, and its about living your dream no matter what. Happiness is love in the steps you take and work you do to reach where you want to be.

DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN FIVE WORDS
Positive, motivational, healing, relatable and calming. At least that is what I strive to do.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW RELEASE MOUNTAINS & MILESTONES...
Mountains & Milestones is about the last 5 years of my life. Its a combination of moments, thoughts, and stories  that stood out to me in a very dark point in my life. Then coming to the turn around to the resolution.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG FROM MOUNTAINS AND MILESTONES AND WHY?
Probably "West" because its a story based off of my friends. I got to watch happen right in front of my eyes. Their lives at the time affected me in a way that it inspired "West."

IF COULD PLAY A SHOW WITH ANYONE WHO WOULD IT BE?
The early November or Ace Enders. For sure, one of my biggest influences and an "idol."

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP FIVE FAVOURITE ALBUMS OF ALL TIME?
This is such a hard question! I would have to say right now
5. "Say it Like You Mean it" - The Starting Line
4. "Your Favorite Weapon" - Brand New
3."Bad Advice" - I Call Fives
2. "Enola" -  I Can Make A Mess
1."Something to Write Home About"

Mountains & Milestones is out now! Check it out below:
