For our first up and coming pop punk bands post of 2015, we're bringing to you guys For the Legion, who hail from Sweden. The band recently released a brand new video for their song 'Super Smash' which you can check out above. The band kindly answered some questions for us so you can get to know them a bit better...
HOW DID YOU GUYS FORM?
We are childhood friends and the band basically formed around that. We have always been playing music together and 2012 we decided to go serious under the name For The Legion. Since then we have done two EP releases, several music videos and a tour around Sweden.

We really wanted to make a tribute to video games and comic books. We have always been kind of geeky with countless Halo nights and Super Smash Bros battles. Even before the song was written we had the intention of making a nostalgic tribute that could reach out to everyone growing up with superhero dreams. The video was the perfect way to show ourselves as a band and it was awesome to be superheroes for a day.

Johan (Guitar): Spider-Man! Though I guess I have to wait until Sweden builds skyscrapes…
Marcus (Bass): I would be Deadpool. He’s awesome!
Ed (Vocals and Guitar): Well, I could use some money so Batman or Iron Man for sure.
Hjalle (Drums): Michelangelo from Turtles. Pizza and partying!

We grew up listening to bands like Green Day, The Offspring and blink-182. They have definitely had an impact on our music genre, we’ve probably played every Green Day song there is. In later years, with the wave of new era pop punk bands, Four Year Strong, State Champs and Me vs Hero have had great influence on our sound.
